Palo Santo & Copal – Two Traditional Incense Ingredients Combined

The Native Soul Palo Santo & Copal Incense Sticks combine two aromatic incense ingredients that have long held special significance in various cultural and spiritual traditions across Latin America.

Palo santo, the “holy wood,” captivates with its warm, woody, and subtly balsamic fragrance. Copal complements it with a distinctive resinous and slightly sweet note. Together, they create a multifaceted fragrance that gently fills the room and creates a special atmosphere for meditation, personal rituals, or moments of tranquility.

Palo Santo and Copal in Spiritual Traditions

Palo santo, botanically Bursera graveolens, is primarily associated with Peru and Ecuador. In various traditional and spiritual practices, its aromatic wood is associated with cleansing, protection, and the preparation of ceremonial spaces.

Also copal resin has a long cultural history. Different types of copal resin have been used as incense for centuries, particularly in Central America, but also in other regions of Latin America. There, the rising smoke accompanies, among other things, prayers, offerings, and ceremonial acts.

The significance attributed to these incense ingredients varies depending on the region, community, and tradition.

A Warm, Resinous Fragrance for Mindful Moments

As they burn, they release a harmonious blend of woody, balsamic, and resinous fragrance notes. The light freshness of palo santo meets the more intense character of copal, creating a pleasantly deep and warm fragrance in the room.

The incense sticks are particularly well suited for creating a mindful moment before meditation, a personal ritual, or simply after an intense day.

The focus is not on the amount of smoke, but on the moment itself and the intention with which you create it.

Traditionally Made Using the Masala Method

The incense sticks are part of the Native Soul series by Hari Darshan and are made using the traditional masala method.

Various aromatic ingredients such as herbs, resins, woods, gums, and oils are processed into an incense blend and then rolled onto the sticks.

One pack contains approx. 12 incense sticks with a total of 15 g. The individual sticks are about 20 cm long.

Cleansing as a Spiritual Intention

Palo santo and copal are associated with cleansing, protection, prayer, and connection in various spiritual traditions.

These meanings are part of cultural and spiritual traditions and are not scientifically proven effects. However, for your own ritual, fragrance and smoke can create a mindful framework in which you can pause and refocus your attention.

Important Safety Instructions

Always use incense sticks in a suitable, fireproof holder and never leave them burning unattended. Ensure adequate ventilation and keep them away from children, pets, and highly flammable materials.
